A major concert venue complex outside Moscow on Friday 22nd of March was attacked, this left at least 40 people dead and more than 100 injured. The attackers attacked the venue with weapons and incendiary devices.

Putin refused to acknowledge ISIS’s claim of responsibility for the attack, stating that Russia was still doing investigations. However, he attempted to indicate that Ukraine might bear responsibility, claiming that the suspected attackers were apprehended while attempting to cross the border into Ukraine.
