Former President Moi’s funeral to cost state Ksh 300 Million

The budget for former president Moi’s state funeral is estimated at Ksh 300 Million according to the star newspaper.

Moi is Kenya’s longest serving president having served the country for 24 years.

According to the star newspaper, Moi’s casket has been flown all the way from South Africa and did cost the state Ksh 2 million.

While at Nairobi hospital, Moi occupied two presidential suits and an ICU equipment which is estimated at Ksh 100 Million.

Moi becomes the fourth Kenyan to have received a befitting state burial after the former president Jomo Kenyatta.

The star newspaper also notes that over Ksh 4.2 million has been set aside for refreshments to be given out at Nyayo stadium.
