Uhuru drives himself: President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday did the unthinkable by driving himself from statehouse all the way through town to Nyayo Stadium.
His main mission was to personally inspect former president Moi’s burial ceremony that would take place on Tuesday.
The state house had earlier given an official statement that Tuesday was going to be a public holiday to mourn the retired former president.
On Tuesday, the president has also ordered that national flags be raised half-mast to mourn the former president.
While all the state officials including the president were granted permission to view the former president’s body on Saturday and Sunday, Kenyans will be able to view the body on Tuesday.
According to Statehouse official report, the body will lie in state at a public area for Kenyans to have a look and pay their last respect to the former president.
Moi’s state burial will be Kenya’s 4th official state burial since Jomo Kenyatta’s burial.
